SONG OF THE Month
Each month I will add a new song--actually 2 new songs, to this playlist. One will be a favorite of mine from a variety of bands, and one will be a Radiohead song, no explanation needed.
August 2015 This being the first month of song selections, the choices are simple. The first Radiohead song on the playlist is 'Paranoid Android', with the video from their appearance on Jools Holland in 1997. The second song is Robert Plant, who I have loved since I was 13, with his Band of Joy doing a cover of the song 'Monkey' while they were on tour in Switzerland in Oct 2010.

September 2015 This month's songs are by U2, playing 'Every Breaking Wave' from their latest album live at the 2014 MTV EMA's (awesome), and Radiohead, playing 'Street Spirit' off their 2nd album The Bends--one of my favorite songs of all time.

October 2015
The selections this month are Blur, 'My Terracotta Heart', from their recent album The Magic Whip (saw them at MSG 10/23/15, great show!), and Radiohead, 'There There', off their 2003's Hail to the Thief.

November 2015
To mark the sad events which took place in Paris on 11/13/15, this month's songs are U2's iconic 'One', from a performance a few week's prior, and Radiohead's 'Reckoner', from the album In Rainbows.

April 2016
This month's non-Radiohead selection is the star-studded cover of George Harrison's 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' from the 2004 Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame Concert, which features along others, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and Prince, who tragically passed away this month at the age of 57. This performance is widely rated as one of the best induction ceremony moments to date, and Prince's guitar solo here is considered by many to be one of the greatest, ever. Repeated playing only makes it better. The Radiohead song of the month is 'Creep', which was their debut single and the song that forever hooked me.
Prince famously did his own version of the song, which you can listen to here: https://youtu.be/NFXZNt4oLkE

The new Radiohead album is here! The new Radiohead album is here!
The non-Radiohead song for this month is from Beck, 'Dreams' off the Grammy-winning Morning Phase album.
Radiohead song is their new single "Burn the Witch' from Moon Shaped Pool. Extremely cool video.

This is the U2 song I originally chose for last week. Another great live performance, this is 'Kite', off their All That You Can't Leave Behind Album. Recorded from a concert they played in Boston in 2001, the song is in part about his father, who passed away that year from cancer. Another one of their best.

This is a different U2 song than I initially chose for today's selection. They were in Paris for a string of shows this past week, and a concert was scheduled for 11/14 which was to be broadcast live on HBO. This and another on 11/15 were cancelled because of the terrible events of Friday night. This song is 'One', which is without question my favorite U2 song, and the clip is from a show two weeks ago in London. I've also included the Anton Corbjin video version to follow.

This week's selection is 'Do I Wanna Know', by the Arctic Monkeys. Great tune, with a very cool video.

To mark the passing of David Bowie a few days ago at the age of 69, this week's selection is a cover of his song 'The Man Who Sold The World' by Nirvana, and is another preformance from their 1994 MTV Unplugged show.
10/30/15
The song for this week is from Nirvana--'About a Girl' from their 1994 MTV Unplugged concert.
Dave Grohl looks so young.

For this week the choice is 'Yellow Ledbetter', by Pearl Jam. Originally released as a B-side to"Jeremy", this is my favorite song by them.

There is a double play for this week--'Out of Time' and 'Ambulance' from Blur. The video is from their 2003 appearance on Jools Holland's Spring Hootenanny.

This week's song is by the Red Hot Chili Pepper's--their official video for 'Snow (Hey Oh)' from their album Stadium Arcadium. Definitely one of their best.

The video is a bit rough, but fabulous. This said, they could probably sing the phone book and I'd love it.
